JKSET – 2023 exam conducted across J&K, Ladakh

JAMMU, Oct 1: The Jammu & Kashmir State Eligibility Test (JKSET) Agency, University of Jammu, successfully conducted the State Eligibility Test for the Assistant Professors for UT of J&K and UT of Ladakh today.
A total of 17,500 candidates appeared for the exam out of the 23,957 eligible ones.
The attendance figures for the JKSET exam in Jammu Province was 70.5 percent, while in Kashmir Province, it was 76 percent and 65.2 percent in Ladakh UT.
This year, the JKSET exam was conducted across 55 centers in different districts of J&K and Ladakh, covering a comprehensive range of subjects, totaling 39 in number. This diverse selection of subjects allowed candidates to showcase their expertise in their chosen fields and seek eligibility for the Assistant Professorship positions in universities and colleges of both the Union Territories.
For the first time, JKSET center was constituted at Bhadarwah and a new subject Tourism Administration and Management was added in the list of the subjects of JKSET/LASET.
Prof Umesh Rai, Vice Chancellor of the University of Jammu and Chairman of JKSET, said that the successful completion of the exam reaffirms the commitment of JU to maintain the highest standards of fairness, transparency, and professionalism in conducting such crucial examinations. The dedication of the candidates and the support of the entire academic community have contributed to the smooth and efficient organization of this examination, he added.
Prof Pankaj Srivastava, the Member Secretary JKSET/ LASET informed that the Agency will try to declare its result as soon as possible.
