JAMMU, Sept 10: Academic Unit-II of JKSCERT Jammu Division concluded five-day workshop on ‘Development of Manual on Content Awareness Enrichment and Pedagogical Skills in teaching of General Sciences for Secondary Level Teachers/ Masters’.
The workshop was conducted under the guidance of H R Pakhroo, Joint Director JKSCERT Jammu, by Head of Academic Unit II, Swarn Singh Jaral (Professor), Dr Sanjeevani (Assistant Professor), Programme Co-ordinator Amit Kr Bhagat (Academic Officer), Associate Co-ordinators Shazia Kousar and Anil Sharma (Academic Officer).
The programme was attended by 50 Teachers/Masters from 10 Districts of Jammu Division, five from each district from 6th Sept to 10th Sept 2022. The participants were trained by the Resource Persons having proficiency in Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Resource Persons of the programme were Dr Pourush, Dr Balgar Singh, Manjusha Kapoor, Abha Verma, Meena Thakur, Deepak Kumar, Kuldeep Gupta, Harpreet Singh, Amol Sharma, Ranjeet, Amit Bhagat, Puneet Thukral and Sunil Sharma.
The purpose of the workshop was content enrichment, enhancement of pedagogical skills and to provide draft for manual development of Science of Secondary School Teachers/Masters teaching General Science in schools to stimulate the interest among the students and to develop their creativity, logical thinking and scientific temper.
The participants were also addressed by Professor Swarn Singh, Associate Professor, Hoshiyar Singh, Assistant Professor Dr Sanjeevani. Two of RPs, Amol Sharma (District Best teacher), Harpreet Singh (State Best teacher) and one of the participants Jawaz Iqbal Wani were State Best Teacher awardees of the year 2022.
The three Best Teacher Awardees were presented mementoes by Joint Director H R Pakhroo. They were also felicitated by Assistant Professor Irvinder Kour and her team.
While speaking on the valedictory occasion, H R Pakhroo motivated the participants and encouraged them to disseminate the knowledge and skills acquired in this programme in class room transactions.
The report of the workshop was read by Neena Puri, Sr Academic Officer. At the end, vote of thanks was presented by Dr Sanjeevani. The participants were given e-certificates for their active participation.
