JAMMU, Mar 7: Jammu-Kathua-Samba (JKS) Range Level Sports Festival concluded at Gulshan Ground, here today.
Dr SD Singh, Inspector General of Police Jammu distributed the prizes among the winners and runners-up teams/players of of various games played during the event.
The Festival, which included Cricket, Football, Volleyball, Kabaddi and Athletic for boys and girls of under-19 level, was organized by Range Police Headquarters Jammu under Civic Action Programme under the overall supervision of DIG Jammu, SSP Pawan Parihar.
He was the Incharge Organizing Committee whereas Rajesh Gill Chief Prosecuting Officer & Member Sports Council was the Coordinator of the Sports festival.
The chief guest IGP Jammu distributed the trophies and cash prize among the participants of different games in presence of  Rafiq-Ul-Hasan DIG Jammu,Vivek Gupta SSP Jammu, Anil Mangotra SSP Samba, Pawan Parihar SSP SO to DIG Jammu, Sandeep Choudhary SP South, Vinod Kumar SP City North, Ramesh Kotwal SP Headquarters Jammu, Rajesh Gill Chief prosecuting Officer  and DySP Pranav Gupta.
Earlier, DIG Jammu presented welcome address and gave brief report about the event.
A total of 475 players from Jammu, Samba and kathua participated in 12 different sports events which were organized at three different venues in Jammu.
While speaking on the occasion, the chief guest said the objective of holding such events to involve more and more youth in sporting activities to not to derail from the mainstream.
He informed that Zonal Level Sports festival will also be organized in a couple of days,
In Cricket, SRML School Jammu, Cricket Club Biahar Kathua and Jammu Rising Club won first, second and third position, while in Football, Sports Club Samba, FC Hiranagar and SRML School Jammu claimed first, second and third position resepctively.
In Volleyball, Volleyball Club Kathua, GHS Pargwal and GHS Akhnoor emerged first, second and third respectively.
In Kabaddi, Singh Club Akhnoor and Kathua Club won first and second positions reepctively, while in Tug of War,  TW Club Mahichack Kathua, NGM Miran Sahib and  Dogra Higher Secondary School claimed first three positions respectively.
In 100 mtrs, Sahil Sharma of Govt Higher Secondary School was declared first, while Gourav Singh and Davinder Singh  of Shishu Niketan and HS Samba were declared as second and third respectively.
In 200 mtrs, Randeer Singh and Chander Malotra of Govt Boys HSS Gandhi Nagar were declared as first and second, while whe Bharat Bhushan of Swami Vivekanand Youth Club Kathua was declared as the third.
In Shot Put, Mohd Azam of Govt HSS Channi and Bharat Jalotra of Govt HSS bagged first and second positions, while Mohd Kaif of Govt HSS Ban Sultan was declared as the third.
