JAMMU, June 26: Jammu Kashmir Reserved Categories Empowerment Alliance (JKRCEA) has asked the LG Manoj Sinha to immediately implement all the constitutional rights meant for SC/ST/OBCs or face statewide agitation against institutional atrocity being faced by these communities after 15th August.
Addressing a press conference here today, the members of SCSTOBC communities showed their deep concern and anguish over misguiding the masses by the state politicians and central leadership of the ruling party through their media management. They said the situation for J&K locals is deteriorating on daily bias on social, economic and political fronts.
Prof GL Thapa, while further elaborating on the plights of SC/ST/OBCs of J&K said that through JKRCEA, they have been putting forth grievances of SC/ST/OBCs of J&K into the notice of ruling dispensations for last many years but no heed paid was paid to them.
Mohinder Bhagat while addressing the media said that SC/ST/OBCS of J&K since 2015 are struggling hard to get their constitutional rights back but instead of solving these issues, PDP-BJP Government, Governors and LGs vehemently ignored their genuine demands.
Sham Basson said that ‘Land to Tiller’ was the excellent and unique act of empowering marginalized section in J&K but it is being diluted by present government. Old age and widow pensions have been abolished and there are issues with disbursement of ration even to very poor amongst all sections, he added.
Prof Kali Dass said that implementation of Mandal Commission report is awaited in J&K and the unconstitutionally carved categories are enjoying good share of reservation in educational institutions and employment at the cost of depriving OBCs of their due share.
In the end, it was urged upon Prime Minister of India and LG of J&K not to test the patience of this larger group of people of J&K who can make and break the political equations very well.
