JKRCE for implementation of constitutional guarantees to SC, ST, OBCs

JAMMU, Apr 23: Jammu and Kashmir Reserve Categories Empowerment (JARCE) has appealed to the Prime Minister to direct the Lt Governor and his administration to fully implement constitutional guarantees meant for SC, ST and OBCs of J&K.
In a joint press conference and protest organized by the joint action committee of SC/ST/OBCs and attended by hundreds of the people including socio religious groups, retired forum, Sarpanches and Panches, members of ULBs and many BDC Chairpersons, it was impressed upon the Prime Minister of India to direct Lt Governor and his administration to fully implement constitutional guarantees meant for SC/ST/OBCs of J&K as promised by him while abrogating Article 370.
They said that if the BJP under PM wants to once again take votes of these communities in forthcoming elections, he must announce restoration of reservation in promotions for SC and STs in JKUT as the same has legal and constitutional backing.
Dr CR Munday that the bureaucracy after sabotaging the matter of reservation in promotions has started targeting reservation in direct recruitments as well by directing various departments to maintain the reservation roster register afresh from 2022 onwards and in this attempt they have withdrawn thousands of vacancies sent to SSRB & JKPSC and are going to de-reserve many vacancies which were reserved in the withdrawn notifications.
PK Chauhan said, “We are hopeful that Central Government under the leadership of Prime Minister shall take serious and rational view of the plight of SC/ST/OBCs of J&K and by assessing the conditions of SCs and STs of JKUT in terms of education, employment and economic standards shall direct Lt Governor and his administration for on ground implementation of Constitutional provisions meant for these communities in a time bound manner”.
Loknath while speaking said that SC, ST and OBCs are still struggling for implementation of reservation in promotions, Mandal Commission report, SCST Atrocities Act and so on.
The members protesting hoped that PM will definitely end the plight of SC, ST and OBCs of JK UT.
