JAMMU, May 12: Following purported clarification by the Principal Secretary School Education Department, the Jammu Kashmir Private Schools Association (JKPSA) has appealed to all the private schools to charge monthly fees without any enhancement.
According a press release, issued here today, the Association president, Kamal Gupta also urged the parents to deposit fee so that school authorities can pay emoluments to their staff without any delay to run their livelihood smoothly.
Pertinent to mention that the School Education Department has allowed the private schools to collect tuition fees and the same was conveyed by Principal Secretary SED, Asgar Hassan Samoon through a tweet this morning.
The JKPSA General Secretary Ajay Gupta said that the matter was resolved following representation by the Association to bring the private schools out of financial deficit due to delay in fee collection as per the March 30 order, according to which collection of fee was to be deferred till April 30,2020 because of nationwide lockdown.
“Private Schools Association(s) presented number of representations to the Government showing status of their financial losses and also demanded an amicable solution to bring the paralyzed life due to COVID-19 on the right track as the schools, which are solely dependent on this venture have failed to pay the salaries to their staff till now,” he said and informed that taking all pros and cons in considerations and to tackle with emerging grave situation, School Education Department has also issued a letter no: Edu/ Adm/ MF/ 2020 dated 11/05/20 to all Deputy Commissioners to allow four officials of each private school to attend their offices.
