JAMMU, Feb 12: A delegation of the Jammu and Kashmir Pahari Revolutionary Movement(JKPRM) today called on Jammu University Vice Chancellor Prof R D Sharma and demanded introduction of Pahari language as an open subject in Post Graduate Courses in JU.
State president of JKPRM told the Vice Chancellor that “around 3-4 lakh students of the Pahari community are supporting their demand.
The VC gave a patient hearing to delegation and assured that on fulfillment of the required conditions, University will introduce the Pahari subject. The members of JKPRM also assured the VC that Cultural Academy and Advisory Board will provide syllabus, books, dictionaries and literature of the subject.
The JKPRM delegation comprised of Zakir Ahmed, Rajib Mehraj, Qazi Abrar Ahmed, Zaheer Khan, Rameez Malik and Hamid Hashmi.
