Srinagar, Apr 21: The Jammu and Kashmir Political Migrant Front (JKPMF) today urged the government to take necessary steps to ensure the welfare and progress of political migrants of J&K.
Addressing a press conference here, JKPMF Chairman, Syed Parvez Hilal raised several concerns about the welfare of political migrants and demanded immediate action.
He said that the government should take steps to rehabilitate political migrants living in various security zones in Srinagar in the same manner as district headquarters migrants and Jammu migrants.
“The government should improve our economic situation by increasing the amount of monthly assistance provided by the centre,” he said.
He said that the seats for MBBS and other professional courses should also be reserved for their children.
JKPMF demanded that Rs. 50 lakh package announced by the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi should be distributed among all migrants from all communities in JK.
