JKPF appeals people to hoist Tri-Colour on rooftops

JAMMU, Aug 1: Jammu and Kashmir People’s Forum (JKPF) has asked the citizens of Jammu and Kashmir to hoist the National Tri -Colour on the rooftops of their houses and business establishments to show the unity and solidarity.
The appeal was made by the president of the Forum, Ramesh C Sabharwal, its vice president, Raghu Mehta, general secretary, Prof Rajiv Rattan and Vikas Sharma Trustee at a press conference here, today.
They said hoisting of Tri-colour from August 9 to 15 in connection with celebration of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahostsav will create a unique atmosphere of strength and confidence among the people of the country which is the need of an hour for its progress and defence and also send a message to enemies of the country and their agents to desist from any misadventure and such an event becomes more meaningful after the abrogation of Article 370 and 35 A and this gives an opportunity to celebrate this event with much patriotic spirit.
They said “The Government of India has launched a campaign `Har Ghar Tiranga” while commemorating Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav from August 9 to August 15 this year to make the people aware about the importance of their duty towards the nation and to show that we all are united and one nation for the protection of our freedom and to celebrate the 75th year of Independence which we attained after a long struggle and sacrifice in the year 1947”.
They said Jammu and Kashmir People’s Forum is dedicated to the cause of taking up of issues of national as well as social importance with the best of its strength, resources and people’s co-operation since 2009 and quite recently it has organised three impressive functions of national importance in this regard.
These programmes were organised to celebrate the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and to remember the brave souls that have made the supreme sacrifice towards building and safeguarding India.
