SRINAGAR, June 28: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) demanded adequate security to its former president Peerzada Mohd Sayeed after the unknown person barged into house at his native village Damhal Khushipora.
The party has expressed serious concern over the ‘attempt’ by some unknown person and has demanded probe into the incident as well.
It has urged upon the Police higher-ups to ascertain the identity of the person. The incident occurred during the intervening night of 27 and 28 June.
“The alert CRPF Jawans deployed at the residence of Peerzada foiled the attempt and arrested one person, who is lodged in Police Station Achabal for interrogation, but the identity of the person was yet to be disclosed,” the party statement said.
The party has urged the higher ups in Police Department to investigate into the matter to “unearth the conspiracy behind the attempts to break the security of Peerzada’s house, which is a matter of serious concern.”
