JKP focussing on quality education of police wards: Rajendra

SRINAGAR, Oct 14: Director General of Police (DGP), K. Rajendra Kumar has reiterated that welfare of police wards is one of the top most priorities of the organisation to infuse spirit of competition among them and boost their morale.
He said that the organization is proud of its jawans and officers, who remain away from their families to perform their professional duties. He assured that the organization will provide assistance to the personnel in providing quality education to their wards.
While sanctioning scholarships of Rs. 7 lakh in favour of 126 wards of serving personnel, who have secured above 80 % marks in annual examination of class 12th during academic session 2014-15, Mr. Rajendra said that the organization realises its responsibility and has been assisting wards of serving personnel under various welfare schemes.
Mr. Rajendra said that among various welfare schemes, wards of martyrs are provided free education and hostel facilities in police public schools at Srinagar and Jammu. Free coaching for professional courses is also provided to these wards so that they could excel in their career. The scholarships are provided to the wards from primary level regularly so that their talent could be nourished, he added.
