UDHAMPUR, Oct 6: On 6th day of ongoing hunger strike by the JKNPP, senior Panthers leader and MLA Ramnagar, Harshdev Singh today joined the protesters and he along with other leaders observed fast today at the dharna venue.
The party leaders, led by MLA Udhampur Balwant Singh Mankotia are observing hunger strike in front of Court Complex Udhampur. They are demanding ration, relief, shelter and compensation to flood affected families of Udhampur district.
While addressing supporters at the venue, Mr Mankotia said that the ongoing hunger strike will continue till its logistic conclusion. Due to ill will of district administration, rice from Chattisgarh got rotten and now stinking due to negligent attitude of the Dy Commissioner Udhampur, he alleged.
The MLA demanded that the Government should immediately provide compensation to houseless families, start protection work on war footing to further save the agriculture land & half damaged houses, allot land to people who lost their 100 percent land in flash flood and constructed houses. He stressed that the teams should be constituted to rescue animals that are trapped from last one month in cattle sheds while water and power supply should be immediately restored in all hilly areas.
