JKNM discusses prevailing situation in Kashmir

JAMMU, Oct 21: Jammu and Kashmir Nationalist Movement (JKNM) Executive met here today to assess the latest situation in the State and formulate adequate response.
The meeting expressed concern over sweeping radicalizing of Valley society, continuation of infiltration from LoC and Border and failure to initiate a result oriented harmonization exercise on political level.
The meeting said that the prevailing situation reveals that conditions are far away from normalization in Kashmir.
It said that after mass resentment in the Valley aimed at foiling the public announcement of the PM and the CM about concentrated rehabilitation of IDPs, the Centre and the State chose to seal their lips and eat the humble pie. The relative episode in the Legislative Assembly is a revelation, it added.
The JKNM resolved that despite return and rehabilitation turned rhetoric than reasons with Governments and political leadership, past and present, it reiterated its duly considered proposal of twin city as just , viable and acceptable formula that serves the interests of all nationalists who have a stake in the return and rehabilitation of the IDPs.
The meeting said JKNM would help the Government to recollect the team of interlocutors headed by Dilip Padgaonkar after assessing the ground reality in the Valley also strongly recommended the Twin City formula in their final report to the Government of India.
