JAMMU, Aug 20: A meeting of the central executive body of the All Jammu, Kashmir & Ladakh Teachers’ Federation was specially convened to review the scenario prevailing in the School Education Department of the State vis-à-vis service conditions of the teacher, infrastructure in the education institutions and shortage of non-teaching / teaching staff in the education institutions (far flung area).
The meeting, held under the chairmanship of Balwan Singh Jamwal, held threadbare deliberation on all the issue and unanimously adopted a resolution demanding transparent transfer policy without any political interference, immediate filling up positions of teaching and non-teaching staff in the educational institutions, regularization of all cadres of School Education Department at the time of their promotion, exempting teachers from extra-academic duties as assured by the Education Minister and suitable adjustment of surplus Master / Teacher.
While addressing the meeting, Balwan Singh Jamwal strongly castigated the State Government for its failure to implement the transparent transfer policy which is badly effecting the academic standard in the institutions. He condemned the pick and choose policy adopted by the department without taking into consideration of the subject needs / strength of the students in the institutions etc. He further expressed concerned regarding the political interference in the transfers of Teacher / Master / Lecturer etc, which is badly effecting the academic side of the institutions and students belonging to the poor strata of the society are the main sufferer.
The meeting was attended by Joginder Singh Manhas, Sudarshan Sharma, Chaman Sharma, Shamsher Singh, Jagdeep Singh Langeh, Mohan Lal Sharma. Tara Chand, Sanjiwan Singh, Inderjeet Gupta, Sandal Singh, Rakesh Kalgotra, Dinesh Singh Manhas, Jyoti Parkash, Suresh Kumar, Ajay Kumar, Satish Sharma, Yash Pal Chowdhary, Naresh Pal and others.
