JKLTF deputation meets School Education Secretary

JAMMU, Aug 1: A deputation of All Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh Teachers Federation (JKLTF) led by Federation president, Bhushan S Verma and general secretary, Maheshwar Parsad today met Commissioner/ Secretary of School Education (SE) and put forth their demands.
The deputation while discussing the transfer policy with the Secretary strongly condemned the present scenario created by the authorities in transfer and adjustment in the department and demanded the Secretary to restore untimely, undue and premature transfers of the staff from the Directorate on the directions of vested interests, who is working for minting money.
They demanded the Secretary to immediately stop pick and choose policy in the adjustment of newly promoted Masters and Lecturers. They also demanded that transfers of lecturers be done on subject wise and single transfers be avoided.
The deputation members also demanded filling up of vacant posts from Joint Director to Class IV, release of salary bi-annually and increase in BEd seats.
The other demands highlighted by the deputation members include bringing back Masters working in far flung areas of Jammu to the home areas, timely supply of free books, periodical increments released to the employees from this month, earned leave to teachers on par with other teachers of other states like HP and Punjab and responsibility of Mid-Day meal be given to other agencies leaving teachers for teaching.
