JAMMU, Sept 1: Jammu Kashmir Government Pharmacist Association (JKGPA) held a press conference today in Jammu, where they highlighted pressing issues and put forth key demands aimed at improving the healthcare system in the region.
The conference was presided over by Bharat Bhushan Bhagat (president of JKGPA) and Sushil Sudan, a member of the Pharmacy Council of India.
During the event, the Association emphasized the need to change the nomenclature of Pharmacists in J&K, following the precedent set by other States. They also called for the creation of the post of Senior Pharmacist at newly upgraded Primary Health Centers (PHCs) that have transitioned from Allopathic dispensaries, which they believe is crucial for enhancing patient care.
Additionally, the JKGPA urged the Government to establish Pharmacist positions at Health and Wellness Centers to ensure better healthcare services for rural populations. They also announced plans to celebrate “World Pharmacists Day” on September 25.
Prominent members present on the occasion were RP Singh, Bahadur Singh, Sanjay Choudhary, Sandeep Pandita, Madan Lal Sharma, Surjeet Rajan, Daleep Choudhary, Javed, Sorab Bakshi, Vinod Kumar, Rajesh Kumar, Naresh Sharma, Vikas Sabarwal, Khalid Mehmood, Pawan Kumar and Ajeet Choudhary.
