JAMMU, May 20: Jammu Kashmir Government Pharmacist Association (JKGPA), Jammu today highlighted long pending demands of health employees.
Addressing a press conference in the office of Jammu Kashmir Medical Employees Federation at DHS Complex Jammu, Kamal Jit Sawhney (general secretary JKGPA) said the Departmental Promotion Committee meeting (Promotions) of all categories in the Health Department is pending for last 4 years., which is supposed to be held twice a year.
He said despite repeated representations and deputations nothing has been done so far. “Many health employees have retired without getting the benefits of promotion and several posts are lying vacant in the Health Department,” Sawhney said, adding, service subordinate recruitment rules SRO-20 file is lying pending in the office of Secretary-General Administrative Department Civil Secretariat, Jammu for last four months for final approval.
Sawhney further alleged that the administration failed to resolve the permanent salary issue of Female Multipurpose Workers and other staff getting salaries under Head -2211 Family Welfare. The salary of FMPH Workers and other staff has been pending for the last five months, and the employees and their families have been facing hardship and are on the verge of starvation, he added.
He also urged the UT Government to register leftover Government in-service Pharmacists under the new Pharmacy Act 1948 Section 32-C, which was implemented in UT after the abrogation of Article 370. He also demanded the restoration of the old pension scheme for all UT employees on the analogy of neighboring states.
JKGPA general secretary appealed all health employees of the Jammu Division to participate in Kaam Chhor Hartal and suspend the work in all health institutions of Jammu division on 24-05-2022 from 10 AM to 1 PM to awaken the Government from deep slumber over the genuine demands of health employees.
