JAMMU, Sept 27: Jammu and Kashmir Freedom Fighters Association (JKFFA) today organized a function to remember Shaheed Bhagat Singh, on his 111th Birth Anniversary, at Dogra Shaurya Sthal, here.
The function was presided over by the Association Chairman, Ved Gandotra and Vice Chairman, Rajiv Mahajan and President R.C Puri.
Speaking on the occasion, RC Puri highlighted the life history of Shaheed Bhagat Singh and his associates, who fought for the freedom of the motherland.
Floral tributes were paid to Shaheed Bhagat Singh. A two-minute silence was also observed by all the participants.
Ved Gandotra threw light over the life history of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru and said that present Hindustan was breathing in free air due to their sacrifices.
Paying tributes to Bhagat Singh, Rajiv Mahajan said that hanging of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru became a turning point in the freedom struggle and proved as last nail in the coffin of British Rule.
The JKFFA members also remembered the martyrdom of Neta Ji Subash Chander Bose, Chander Shekhar Azad, Rani Laxmi Bai, Mangal Pandey, Abdul Hamid, Major Ajay Jasrotia and others who fought for the nation.
Meanwhile, JKFFA framed a 10-member Co-ordination Committee comprising Ved Gandotra, Rajiv Mahajan, R.C Puri, Karnail Chand, Rajinder Singh, Dr. Karan Gupta, Brij Mehra, Gajan Singh Khalsa, Sukhminder Singh Maini and Pritam Sharma.
Ved Gandotra said that Committee will decide all the matters of the Association.
