JAMMU, Oct 21: Jammu and Kashmir Freedom Fighters Association (JKFFA) today paid rich tributes to Hav Saroop Singh, Maha Vir Chakra awardee, who laid his life during Indo-China War in 1962.
The function organized by Ved Gandotra, president, JKFFA, was held at Dogra Shaurya Stamb, Ambphalla.
State president, Shri Ram Sena, Rajiv Mahajan, graced the occasion as the chief guest while Davinder Singh and Amrik Singh, sons of Shaheed Saroop Singh were guests of honour.
As all other soldiers in the post of Hav Saroop Singh had succumbed to the enemies, Hav Saroop Singh fought single handedly with the enemies and laid his life for the Nation.
The association during this meeting also remembered Ashfaq Ullah Khan, a close associate of Neta Ji Subash Chander Bose. The members paid floral tributes to the legendry souls and garlanded their photographs.
The members on this occasion also remembered Neta Ji Subash Chander Bose, Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Raj Guru, Sukhdev and Chander Shekhar Azad, besides Comrade Dhanwantri, Rani Laxmi Bhai and also those martyrs who scarified their lives for the Nation.
Prominent members of JKFFA present on the occasion were Gajan Singh, Rajesh Kesari, Varun Sharma, Suraj Parkash, Binny Mahajan, RR Raina, Sanjeev Kumar and Parbhat Kapahi.
