SRINAGAR, Jan 13: Terming the recent attachment order of the Chief Engineer (CE) Project Wing, JKPDD, Kashmir, as unwarranted and illegitimate, J&K Electrical Engineering Graduates’ Association (JKEEGA) has demanded revocation of this order immediately.
Taking up the issue in a meeting of its guidance council held here today under the chairmanship of its president, Harvinder Singh, JKEEGA members said that the victimized Chief Engineer who was not part of any committee is self explanatory that he has been made scapegoat due to inability of the State in utilization of funds presently available under various flagship programmes.
“The entire guidance council is dismayed over the unprincipled approach of the Government to attach the major head of the department for none of his fault and merely on flimsy grounds and without serving any notice/chargesheet”, the meeting said, adding, the assigning of the charge to CE System & Operation Wing, who is already overburdened with the present assignment and is also superannuating shortly is beyond comprehension.
The meeting said that this unwarranted attachment shall not only affect the morale of the engineers who are already working on their toes and that too underpaid but also disorganize the development of both transmission as well as distribution infrastructure which is already under crisis.
The guidance council decided that if the attachment order is not revoked, the engineering fraternity working in JKPDD/JKSPDC will be forced to take extreme steps, which may include pen down/tool down strike and sit-in protest in first instance.
