JAMMU, Dec 12: A two-day workshop on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) organised by the Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) in collaboration with Cell for IPR Promotion and Management (CIPAM) concluded here today.
The workshop themed ‘Intellectual Property Rights – Fostering Innovation Ecosystem in J&K’ was aimed to create awareness about the importance of IPRs and other related initiatives of the Government of India (GoI) in this direction. The workshop was held at JKEDI Bari Brahmna campus, Jammu from December 11-12, 2019.
CIPAM is a professional body under the aegis of Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion, Ministry of Commerce and Industries, GoI.
Shubam Istrewal and Simran Sachdev were the resource persons from CIPAM for the 2-day workshop.
Technical sessions were conducted during the two-day workshop apart from various sessions on different aspects of IP registration, government initiatives: IPR regime and CIPAM, fostering an ecosystem of IPR in J&K and session on IPR Cells and Technology Transfer Offices (TTOs).
The programme was attended by faculty members of various universities and colleges of Jammu region and faculty of JKEDI.
Speaking on the valedictory function of the 2-day event, Director JKEDI, Tufail Matto said that more such workshops shall be conducted by the institute in future. “We are hopeful that JKEDI will become a hub for IPR related activities,” he said.
