JAMMU, Feb 9: Jammu and Kashmir Development Forum (JKDF) has distributed free stationery items among the poor students of Government schools.
On the occasion, JKDF Chairman Vicky Mahajan was the chief guest while Haqikat Aara, Zonal Education Officer, presided over the function.
About 135 students belonging to poor families of Boys Primary School, Benagarh and GGM School Langotian were given stationery items including notebooks, pens and pencils.
A cultural programme was also organised on the occasion by the students to mesmerize the gathering.
Refreshment was also served to the students and others who were present on the occasion.
In his speech, Mahajan expressed concern about the pathetical condition of toilets and appealed the concerned authority to improve the condition of toilets at the earliest.
He stressed on the importance of education and advised the students to work hard to successfully face the future challenges and become good citizens.
ZEO also stressed upon the parents to provide education to each and every child as Government school was having sufficient and highly educated staff. She said that the staff should work honestly and faithfully to make students best human beings.
Among others, who also spoke on the occasion included Paramjit Singh, Retired Headmaster, Om Parkash and Yash Pal.
