JAMMU, May 4: All J&K Bhagat Welfare Association (JKBWA), Jammu today expressed strong resentment against BJP for ignoring Schedule Caste (SC) representation in all respects.
Addressing a press conference here today, Harbans Lal Bhagat, president, JKBWA, said that SC community of J&K honestly elected seven MLAs from all reserved constituencies for BJP with a hope that the party will welcome mandate and do justice in power sharing but unfortunately BJP deliberately ignored SC representation in all respects.
“After the supreme sacrifice of Shaheed Bhagat Amar Nath i.e. since 1970s every elected Government of J&K gave due representation to SC community. Even in 2002 under the Government led by late Mufti Mohd Sayeed, there was due justification with SC community but in present scenario seven MLAs representing SC community are being ignored”, he said, adding the SC community deserves at least 4 Cabinet berths and 2 MLC seats.
Bhagat said that BJP has totally ignored the SC MLAs and this injustice will not be tolerated by the SC community. He said that by ignoring a big segment of the society, BJP has proved that it is working on the signals of RSS. “BJP has dual character. In media it shows its secular character but actually it is against SC, ST, OBC”, he added.
He said that recently one of the most popular and senior leaders of BJP from reserved constituency, Chenani, Dina Nath Bhagat, suffers humiliation in his own party, which is not tolerable to the community at all. He appealed all the representatives of SC community to fight for their due share, as SC community is with them.
Also present in the press conference were Jeet Raj Bhagat, Nisha, Rakesh Kumar and Santosh Bhagat.
