JAMMU, Jan 22: Jammu Kashmir Bachao Tehreek (JKBT) president and former Minister, Abdul Gani Vakil, today said that JKBT stands to ensure equitable development of all the three regions of Jammu and Kashmir.
“Our party’s main focus is to develop Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh equitably. Jammu Kashmir Bachao Tehreek will always advocate balanced and equitable development of all three regions as it strengthens the bonds of unity and integrity of the State which is the need of the hour”, Abdul Gani Vakil said in a statement.
Cautioning the people about the communal and divisive forces in the State, Vakil said that Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh have to stay together and people should understand the designs of such forces and strengthen secularism, unity and integrity of the State.
Vakil described the political situation in general in the State as quiet fluid where good governance, transparency and accountability are missing from the scene and in particular the administration at the district level is behaving like a mute spectator rather than coming forward for addressing the grievances of the common masses.
He called upon all the mainstream political parties to put up a joint fight against increasing institutional denigration and unrest in Kashmir, collapsing fast tourism, agriculture, horticulture, trade, business and economy.
Vakil said political chaos in the country prolonging the current phase of unrest in Kashmir has shattered the economy of Jammu and Kashmir particularly agriculture, horticulture, tourism, trade and education. He said any delay in forging unity by mainstream parties could bring disaster to Jammu and Kashmir.
“Restoration of faith in the sanctity of public institutions would bring back Kashmir valley from the continuing phase of unrest if the efforts are supplemented with a serious dialogue with all stake holders especially Hurriyat Conference in the State and Hurriyat Conference should also understand that dialogue is the only way out to resolve Kashmir issue”, Vakil added.
