JKB’s shining performance

Chief Minister’s appreciation of Jammu and Kashmir Bank’s performance in strengthening the economy of the State through various endeavours is well placed. JKB has won many laurels in financial history of the State. The CM expected easier and quicker credit flow from various branches of the bank in order to provide stimulus to trade and commerce and especially lend much needed support to the agricultural sector. On the occasion of inaugurating a new branch of the bank in Waliwar, Ganderbal, the Chief Minister gave away a dozen of Kissan Cards to the farmers which would facilitate them to conduct agriculture related bank transactions.  JKB has rendered valuable service to the economy of the State by reaching people even in remote corners. Under its current scheme the bank would be reaching a population between 1000 and 2000 and in the process it has the plan of opening one hundred new branches during current financial year. Speaking on the occasion, the Chairman of J&K Bank said that JK Bank had the highest number of branches in the State and the credits flowing from this bank computed at more than 70 per cent of total credits offered in the State during the current year. This indicated that the flow of credit from J&K Bank branches was already a matter of priority with the bank authorities. Chief Minister expects the Bank to become a source of generating employment for the unemployed youth, and catalyst to increased commercial activities in the state and the instrument of revival of agricultural health.
