JAMMU, Mar 28: The Adolescence Education Cell, J&K Board of School Education (JKBOSE) conducted a two-days training-cum- orientation programme on Adolescence Education at JKBOSE Headquarters, here. A cross section of experts from 10 DIETs of Jammu Division participated in the programme.
Dr Renu Goswami, Secretary, JKBOSE, was the chief guest on the occasion. She thoroughly inspired the participants with her matured perceptions and thought provoking speech.
The guest of honour, Kaneez Fatima, Director (Academics), delivered insightful speech with her visionary ideas and thoughts.
The training programme was organized so as to prepare District Resource Persons for carrying out various activities like trainings, advocacy, and co-curricular activities in all the districts. Various themes viz Process of Growing up, Charms and Challenges of Adolescence, Healthy Relationships among Adolescents, HIV/AIDS-Stigmatization and Cause and impact of Drug abuse were highlighted in the training programme.
Amongst Resource Persons, Dr Rakesh Behal, Associate Professor, GMC Jammu, Dr Meenakshi Kotwal, Registrar, CD Hospital, Jammu, Dr Rabia Naseem Moghal, Research Officer, SIE and Sunil Sharma, senior Lecturer, SRML, Jammu, delivered thought provoking lectures on various themes.
Earlier, Dr Yasir Hamid Sirwal, Project Officer-JD welcomed the esteemed guests and participants and vehemently highlighted the importance of Adolescence Education in the present contemporary era.
The programme was conducted under National Adolescence Education Programme, which is being monitored by NCERT, New Delhi and sponsored by Ministry of Human Resource and Development, New Delhi.
