SRINAGAR, Mar 22: Jammu & Kashmir Awami Forum (JKAF) today announced candidates for three Parliament seats of the Valley– Srinagar, Baramulla and Anantang.
While addressing a press conference here, JKAF announced the names of the candidates for the three Parliament seats, elections of which are scheduled to be held next month.
They said that the vice chairman of the party, Dr. Abdul Rasheed Banday will contest from Srinagar while Muzaffar Ahmad Shah will contest from North Kashmir’s Baramulla seat and Kaisar Ahmad Sheikh will be the candidate for South Kashmir’s Anantnag seat.
Speaking on the occasion, chairman of the party, Farooq Ahmad Ganie said that they have already decided to contest the Parliament elections and Assembly elections as the party has been in the fore front during recently held Panchayat elections. Click here to watch video
He said the party has decided to name these candidates after seeing the support of the public to them and are hopeful that people will give the new candidates a chance to serve them.
He also said that the party contested the Panchayat elections alone but this time other parties like Jammu & Kashmir Gujjar Bakerwal Pahari Forum and Jammu & Kashmir Save Party have decided to support them.
“The mission of the party is to make the State corruption free, violence free, addiction free and provide employment opportunities for the unemployed youth,” he added.
