SRINAGAR, Apr 24: Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh All Departments Clerical Staff Association (JKADCSA) has urged upon the Lieutenant Governor and J&K UT administration for immediate sanitation of all working offices/ initializations of sanitizing tunnels or any other sanitation source at all working offices to protect precious lives of employees and their families.
In a press statement, Jeelani Naik, president of the Association said that as the world is facing worst crisis in its history due to COVID-19 pandemic, every human life is under threat, and only precautionary measures, such as complete lockdown, isolation and social distancing can save the people from this pandemic; but at the same time, the employees belonging to departments having emergent nature of responsibilities and whose services are much required to provide basic services to the general public, to serve and to treat the COVID-19 infected patients, are at high risk to get infected by this virus.
The employees of the Health Department, Police, Revenue Department, PDD, PHE, CAPD, Irrigation and Flood Control Departments, Municipalities, Bank officials and various other departments are performing their duties round the clock, but unfortunately, preventive measure for the safety of such employees has not been adopted by any department and employees are at high risk. The employees of various departments have approached the Association and raised the grievances about the issue.
The issue is of very critical nature and involves high risk, thus the Association is hereby appeals to the Lt Governor of J&K UT to immediately install sanitation tunnels in all working offices or any other COVID preventive equipment may also be installed at major premises, so that employees and their families will remain safe, Naik added.
It has been also noticed, that most officers are asking their employees to attend the duties without facilitating them with curfew pass or permission issued by District Magistrate and resultantly such employees are facing hard approach from law enforcing agencies and vehicles of various employees have been seized, but the officers are not paying any heed to get the permission/curfew pass from respective Deputy Commissioners/District Magistrates, so that inconvenience could be avoided. The Association appeals Chief Secretary and all District Magistrates for issuance of COVID-19 curfew pass to all employees of working offices.
