JKAAP holds youth convention

Srinagar Feb 17: The Jammu and Kashmir Awami Aawaz Party today organized a daylong youth and women’s empowerment conclave at Partap Park here, in which a large number of young people took part.
The participants carried various placards with inspirational messages.
The spokesperson of Youth Wing of the Awami Aawaz Party, Mohammad Arif Mir, termed the monster of drug addiction as the single biggest enemy of the growth of Kashmir and vowed that JK Awami Aawaz Party would root out this menace of drug addiction. “The lack of quality job opportunities and rapid unemployment is giving rise to drug addiction and depression in Kashmir,” he said.
The Awami Awaz Party leadership reaffirmed that it would take all steps to make the lives of youth beautiful in Kashmir. The leadership also vowed not to tolerate heinous crimes against women like acid attacks. They said women are half the world’s population and equal partners in peace and progress of any society. They said that recent horrible acid attack in Srinagar brought to notice the horrors faced by women in the valley. “Over the years, domestic violence has been continuously rising in the Kashmir valley. The need for women’s empowerment in Kashmir is felt all the more with these grim episodes,” they added.
