JAMMU, Oct 17: J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL) today released Sheeraza Dogri, a golden jubilee ank at KL Saigal Hall.
Darshan Darshi, a veteran Dogri writer, poet and scholar presided over the function, whereas Dr Om Goswami, former Additional Secretary, J&K Cultural Academy and renowned Dogri and Hindi writer was the chief guest. Dr Aziz Hajni, Secretary and Dr Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary, JKAACL were also present on the occasion.
Delivering his presidential address, Darshan Darshi congratulated the JKAACL for this great endeavour that today Dogri Sheeraza has successfully completed its fifty years for which the JKAACL, the staff especially Ashok Gupta, editor of Dogri deserve appreciation.
Dr Om Goswami, who was the chief guest, said that the decision of the J&K Academy in bringing out the journals of different languages of the State has proved not only fruitful but this endeavour, now is yielding good results so far as the preservation of Art, Culture and Literature of the state is concerned.
Welcoming the august gathering, Dr Aziz Hajini, Secretary of the Academy said that it is a matter of happiness that the Sheeraza Dogri has completed its fifty years continuously bringing out its bi-monthly publications and JKAACL has come out with a Dogri Sheeraza Golden Jubilee Ank.
Dr Manoj Heer, Dogri Poet and writer presented paper on Dogri Sheeraza Golden Jubilee Special issue which was well received by the audience.
Dr Rattan Basotra, Assistant Editor, Dictionary conducted the proceedings of the function while Dr Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary, J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages presented vote of thanks.
Among others were present include Prof Rita Jatindra, Khalid Hussain, Shaam Talib, Shiv Dev Singh Susheel, Shusheel Begana, KK Shakir, Neelam Sareen, Neeru Sharma, Sunita Bhadwal, Dr Baljit Raina, HS Sagar, Com Jaswant Singh, Khajur Singh, Mushtaq Kak, Brij Mohan, Balwinder Singh, Hardeep Singh Deep and scholars from PGD of Dogri, University of Jammu.
