JAMMU, Oct 26: In connection with Diwali celebrations, a thundering and enthusiastic multilingual `Hasya Kavi Sammailan’ was organized by J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, here today.
Prakash Premi from Udhampur, a prominent litterateur, presided over the event whereas V K Sambyal, former Director Radio Kashmir Jammu was chief guest on the occasion. S N Mehta, DIG , BSF, was the guest of honour.
While delivering his presidential address, Prakash Premi said that such events definitely provide an occasion to celebrate such festivals without any creed and colour.
V K Sambyal said that real laughter is the real exercise of lungs and such programmes have their own importance in this present times of tensions and frustrations.
Earlier, Dr Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary JKAACL, said that this programme on the eve of Diwali was started last year with a mission so that an atmosphere could be created where through humorous poetry the healthy treatment to the society could be given with the source of entertainment and laughter.
