JAMMU, Mar 6: J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages today organized a classical music performance under its series “Sareh Prouhane” in the K L Saigal Hall, Academy Complex, Jammu.
Nationally reputed artist, Kakoli Mukharjee from Kolkata enthralled the audience with her memorable performance. Kuldip Rai another local Singer also presented Urdu Ghazals, which were highly appreciated. Bulle-Shah and Parshotam Kumar accompanied with Harmonium and Tabla respectively. Kakoli Mukharjee and others were also felicitated by the JKAACL on the occasion.
Rajinder Raina, renowned Tabla Ustad, presided over the event while V K Sambyal, Station Director, Radio Kashmir, Jammu was the chief guest.
Rajinder Kumar Raina, in his presidential address, appreciated the role of the J&K Academy for giving an opportunity to the local artists to have the glimpse of artists outside the State and also interact and share their experiences in the field of music.
V K Sambyal, Station Director, Radio Kashmir, Jammu, said that this activity under the title ‘Sahre Prouhane, as has been commissioned by the JKAACL, is playing a tremendous role in bringing the local and artists of the national repute together at one platform.
Earlier welcoming the august gathering, Dr Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary, J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, highlighted the aims and objectives of holding such type of programme under its series ‘Sahre Prouhane’. He said that in such programmes an out stationed personality from the Art, Culture and Languages is brought on the Academy platform to have an interaction with the local artists and writers.
The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Ashok Gupta, Editor Dogri of the Academy whereas the vote of thanks was delivered by Dr Arvinder Singh Amn.
P N Trishal, Dr Kamal Banka, Dr Harish Kaila, Ravi Sharma, N D Jamwal, Neeraj Verma, besides a galaxy of interactuals, citizens and students of Institute of Music and Fine Arts, Jammu, were present on the occasion.
