J&K Wrestler Ranjit lifts 7th Sarna Dangal title

KATRA, June 4: Wrestler Ranjit Singh of J&K Police from Jammu lifted the 7th Annual Sarna Dangal title 2018, outplaying Wrestler Mohanu of Delhi in the first malli bout that lasted for 19 minutes at village Sarna, here today.
Dangal was organized by Sarna Dangal Committee in collaboration with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association under the overall supervision of President J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association Shiv Kumar Sharma and Som Raj (President, Sarna Dangal Committee).
DySP Katra, Vinod Kumar was the chief guest on the occasion who gave away cash prizes to the winners and runners-up wrestlers.
While Shiv Kumar presided over the function, NC leader Saraf Singh, PDP leader Chander Mohan were the guests of honour Onkar Singh, Ratten Singh, Baldev Singh (Ex Sarpanch), Surinder Kumar and Mohd Sharif were the prominent persons present on the occasion.
Winner of 1st malli bout Wrestler Ranjit Singh was cash awarded with Rs. 5,000 along with Mata Ki Chunni by DySP Katra Vinod Kumar, Shiv Kumar Sharma and Saraf Singh while runners-up Wrestler Mohanu was cash awarded with Rs 4,000 by Onkar Singh, Som Raj and Surinder Kumar.
46 bouts were played in the one day long Wrestling event.
