JAMMU, Dec 14: Former MLA and State vice president Women Wing of the J&K National Conference Bimla Luthra has alleged that people of Jammu and Kashmir have suffered a lot due to non-performance of BJP.
Addressing women workers meeting at village Mota in Suchetgarh Constituency, today Luthra said that Jammu and Kashmir has suffered due to the non-performance of BJP and its non-seriousness in addressing the core issues with regard to development, employment and implementation of various public welfare schemes.
She said instead of addressing these issues the BJP has been indulging in rhetoric, which does not augur well for the democratic polity. She advised the BJP leadership to come of age and go for extensive introspection over the failures in Jammu and Kashmir, where it failed miserably in feeling the pulse of the people and assuaging their economic, developmental and political aspirations.
Former MLA said that due to non-availability of basic amenities including water, power, roads, lanes and drains, old age pension etc, the residents of Suchetgarh are going through tough times. The unscheduled power cuts and erratic water supply also came to the fore while interacting with people there, she added.
Naresh Bittu, District president Jammu Rural B asked people to be cautious against the divisive policies of BJP and support the National Conference in the upcoming polls in Jammu and Kashmir.
Rakesh Singh Raka vice president Central Zone asked people of Jammu region to strengthen hands of Dr Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah to once again install a Government which is people-centric and considerate towards the problems of the common man.
Prominent among those present in the meeting included Pinky Khalsa District president Jammu Urban Women wing, Daljeet Sharma District president Jammu Rural B Women Wing, Joginder District vice president Women Wing Jammu Urban and others. The meeting was organised by Bharti Sharma.
