J&K reports 165 Corona cases, Ladakh 23

JAMMU, Jan 2: Jammu and Kashmir today reported 165 Corona positive cases while the Union Territory of Ladakh recorded 23 positives. However, no casualties were reported in the two UTs.
Among 66 fresh positive cases reported today in Jammu region, 31 were registered in Jammu district, nine in Reasi, seven Poonch, six Doda, three each in Udhampur, Kathua, Samba and Ramban and one in Rajouri district. Kishtwar district didn’t report any COVID cases today.
Among nine cases in Reasi, eight were pilgrims of Mata Vaishno Devi Ji shrine who tested positive on their arrival at Katra Railway Station.
As against 66 fresh cases, 28 persons recovered from the virus today.
Jammu region now has 1,26,374 Corona cases. Of them, 1,23,667 have recovered from the virus while there were 2199 casualties and 508 active positive cases.
Casualties in Jammu region include 1157 in Jammu district, 239 Rajouri, 153 Kathua, 139 Udhampur, 137 Doda, 120 Samba, 100 Poonch, 67 Ramban, 44 Kishtwar and 43 in Reasi district.
Among 508 active positive cases, the highest 313 are in Jammu district followed by 59 ion Doda, 36 Reasi, 28 Poonch, 17 Rajouri, 16 each in Udhampur and Kathua districts, 11 Samba, eight Kishtwar and four in Ramban district.
Out of 23 cases reported from the Union Territory of Ladakh, 20 were recorded in Leh district and three in Kargil.
Ladakh now has 203 active positive cases including 153 in Leh and 50 in Kargil district.
Corona count in Ladakh has now reached 22207. Of them, 21785 have been treated while there were 219 fatalities–161 in Leh and 58 in Kargil.
Meanwhile, Kashmir today reported 99 fresh cases of COVID-19 taking the Jammu and Kashmir tally of cases to 341624.
Those who tested positive include 41 from Srinagar, Baramulla 18, Budgam 13, Pulwama 6, Kupwara 5, Anantnag 5, Bandipora 1 and Ganderbal 10.
Moreover, 133 Covid-19 patients recovered during the time including 105 from Kashmir. So far 335665 patients have recovered, leaving active case tally at 1429 including 921 in Kashmir.
