JAMMU, July 14: Retired Government employees/pensioners in a meeting held here today discussed the burning issues of the pensioners.
In a meeting of the retired employees/ pensioners held here today under the banner of J&K Retirees Pensioners Govt Employees Association, its president Kulwant Singh Sambyal urged upon the J&K UT Government to address the long pending issues of the pensioners/ employees.
The issues are not isolated incidents but reflect wide-spread systematic problems that require urgent intervention. Despite years of dedicated services, several irregularities and delays have occurred causing mental and financial distress to many pensioners.
He said the commutation/loan amount not received despite monthly deduction through treasury officer Sadar Jammu. This constitutes a serious financial irregularity and injustice, especially for senior citizens solely dependent on pension income. He also projected the issue of inordinate delay in disbursement of gratuity and GPF of the Government employees and pensioners. He also raised the issue of enhancement of Medical Allowance of the employees and pensioners. Due to delay in payments these retired employees are unable to take medical treatment, hold marriages of their children and take up house construction./ urgent repair works.
The pensioners have appealed to the Lt Governor Manoj Sinha to intervene into the matter and resolve their long pending issues without any more delay.
