SRINAGAR, June 15: Fayaz Ahmad Bhat, Chairman, Jammu and Kashmir Peace Foundation, met N. N. Vohra, Governor, at Raj Bhavan here today.
Mr. Bhat briefed the Governor about the various activities of the Foundation, all of which are aimed at promoting peace and strengthening communal harmony in the State. He stated that the Foundation is organizing a 3-day Global Peace Conference at Srinagar from 18th to 20th August, 2013 on the occasion of Independence Day celebrations. He stated that the Peace Foundation is shortly setting up its RTI Forums at the District, Divisional and State levels to enlarge awareness about the State Right to Information Act 2009.
The Governor complimented Mr. Bhat and his colleagues for the laudable initiatives being taken by the Foundation which would contribute towards the promotion of peace and amity and strengthening communal harmony in the State.
