JAMMU, Aug 2: Former MLC and PCC chief spokesman Ravinder Sharma said that people of the State yearn for peace, development and employment, as the previous PDP-BJP Government has left a trail of miseries, discrimination and discontent because of their wrong policies and misrule.
Addressing series of meetings in Sunderbani-Nowshera, Sharma said that state is passing through uncertainty from 2014 onwards as lot of controversies and contradictions gripped the state because of the lust of power of BJP. The unprecedented rise in unemployment left educated youth in frustration and there is no policy to deal with the unemployment problem. Backdoor appointments of favorites and blue- eyed of ruling parties caused great resentment and frustration amongst youth.
He said that unrest had derailed the atmosphere of harmony and development. The people are facing great hardships in absent of elected Government. The pick and choose method in extending benefits of Government Schemes on the behest of BJP leaders and activists has become the order of day as field functionaries of administration have developed vested interests to obey the instructions of BJP workers.
Sharma said that people are facing hardships on account of neglect of urgent developmental activities of road connectivity and erratic supply of power and water, unprecedented price rise and over taxation has made the life of common people miserable. He said that the large number of daily wagers, casual workers continue to suffer like several other contractual and temporary categories of employees as their genuine demands are not fulfilled.
He said that people will bring change in the forthcoming Assembly elections and Congress will emerge as the single largest party in the state. The people still recall the good governance provided by Congress under the Chief Ministership of Ghulam Nabi Azad who introduced work culture and triple shift in developmental activities in the state besides ensuring equitable development in all parts of state.
The meeting was attended by Block presidents, senior functionaries, Panchs and Sarpanchs and prominent leaders.
