JAMMU, Oct 11: Govind Sharma’s 4 important wickets by conceding 31 runs in his 9 overs and magnificent knock of 68 by Kanhaiya Wadhawan and 42 by Yawer Hassan helped Jammu and Kashmir to beat Bihar by 6 wickets in the ongoing Vinoo Mankad Under-19 Trophy at Judges Field, Guwahati in Assam today.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, Bihar bundled pout for a modest total of 155 runs in 42.3 overs. Suraj Rathore top scored with 28 runs, while Prakash contributed 26 runs to the total. Apart from Govind, Basit Bashir and Marutwan claimed 2 wickets each.
In reply, Jammu and Kashmir at one stage were struggling at 59/4 in 11.5 overs, before the duo of Kanhaiya and Yawer made a partnership of 99 runs to take their side to home. Kanhaiya hit 7 fours and 3 sixes in his knock, while Yawer struck 3 boundaries in his innings. Earlier, Sarthak Peshin also contributed brisk 31 runs studded with 5 fours and 1 six. Suraj Rathore, Prakash and Suraj Kashyap shared 1 wicket each for Bihar.
