J&K officials receive Fire Service Medals for Gallantry

JAMMU, Jan 3: A medal investiture ceremony was held at National Fire Services College (NFSC) Nagpur.
The chief guest was Amit Shah Home Minister, MHA, GoI and other dignitaries included Nitin Gadkari Minister of Transport and Highways GoI and Nityanad Rai Minister of State of Home Affairs, GoI.
The medals were announced on Republic Day 2018 and the recipients included late Abdul Majid Wani Leading Fireman who was awarded Presidents Fire Service Medal for Gallantry posthumously.
The medal was received by his son Jan Mohammad Wani.
The officials who were awarded Fire Services Medal for Gallantry included Bashir Ahmad Shah, Deputy Director Srinagar, Ghulam Hassan Wani LFM Srinagar, Ghulam Hassan Bhat MD Srinagar, Ghulam Hassan Lone LFM Srinagar and Parvaiz Ahmad Wani LFM Srinagar.
Dignitaries from MHA included DG FS/HG/CD Nagesgeshwar Rao, DG NDRF, Joint Secretary MHA, Director NFSC Nagpur and Fire Advisor.
VK Singh, DGP, Prisons and Fire Services J&K was also present on the occasion and congratulated the awardees.
