Addressing media persons during the launch of the party, its President, Sheikh Muzaffar said that they reached out to people across J&K and came to know that people are facing three basic problems – violence, addiction and corruption.
He said that the party is resolute to work on addressing these problems to achieve prosperity in J&K. “We felt that under the NGO, we will not be able to pursue the resolution of these pressing issues and decided to launch a political party which will try to address these problems that 90% of people are facing,” he added.
He said that the party has the solution to all the problems that the people of J&K are facing. “We understand the issues that people are facing and at the same time, we know the solutions as well; we will work for the protection of J&K and we will make sure that it runs parallel with the country,” he said.
Muzaffar said that the party has a small agenda of working on corruption free J&K, addiction-free J&K and violence-free J&K. “These form the foundations of our party; we do not have anything to do with other issues,” he said.
During the launch, he said that the party has got people from all the sections of the society, focused to work for peace and prosperity in J&K. “We have people from various sections of the society, including Pandits, Dogras, Sikhs including religious people as well as women,” he said.
He underlined that the youth are facing the problem of addiction and if that is addressed, “that will resolve several other linked issues,” he said, adding that the party has got nothing to do with any other issue.
Similarly, he said, the issue of corruption, if addressed, will help in bringing out a great change. “Under the banner of the party, we will be focusing on prime issues and will seek the redressal of the same,” he said.
On being asked what is going to be the stand of the party on the issue of Article 370, he said that the parties who highlighted the issue will deliberate on that and that the J&K Nationalist People’s Front will rather focus on other issues that people are facing across J&K and are of prime importance.
