J&K Literary Fest concludes

NEW DELHI, Mar 22: On the second and concluding day of the 2-Day Jammu and Kashmir Literary Festival organized by the J&K Academy of Art, Culture & Languages in association with the National Akademi of Letters at New Delhi, exciting discussions were held in the four sessions today.
The first session – a panel discussion – saw a healthy discourse by Dr Om Goswami (Dogri), Shanti Veer Kaul (Hindi), Mansoor Ahmad (Urdu), Kamal Deep Singh (Punjabi), Parvez Manoos (Pahari) and Javed Iqbal (English) about the contemporary literature of J&K State.
The second panel discussion centred around literary criticism and research with Prof Reyaz Ahmad (Urdu), M K Waqar (Gojri) and Jehangir Danish (Pahari) participating as panelist.
In the third session panelists Ayaz Rasool Nazki (Urdu), Prakash Premi (Dogri), Gauri Shankar Raina (Kashmiri), Raj Kumar (Hindi) and Suman K Sharma (Hindi) discussed contemporary translation of J&K State languages into other languages of the country and vice-versa.
In  the  afternoon,  a multi-lingual A multi-lingual  Mushaira  was held  as  the  concluding  part  of  the festival.
Poets  who  recited  their  verses  included Fayaz Dilbar, Nighat Nazar and Deepak Aarsi (Urdu), Swami Anter Neerav (Punjabi), Maqbool Sahil (Pahari), Darshan Darshi, Gianeshwar Sharma and Vijay Verma (Dogri), Shabnam Gulzar (Kashmiri), Mohd Zahid, Ismail Ashana and Promila Qazi (English), Ajeet Singh Mastana (Punjabi), Bashir Khaki (Gojri), Tsewang Yangjor (Ladaki), Gauri Shankjar Raina (Hindi), and Bashir Ahmad Wafa (Balti).
Earlier Secretary JKAACL, Dr. Aziz Hajini said that the Academy intentionally introduced the element of panel discussions in the festival so as to make it innovative and off-beat.
The Secretary JKAACL also said that the Academy tries to provide chance of participation in its events to all genuine writers and the writers who contributed in the ongoing literary festival were mostly young and brilliant.
The programme formally culminated with vote of thanks by Kumar Anupam, Editor Hindi, Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi.
