J&K lifts 18th Nat’l Super Seven C’ship title

JAMMU, Nov 21: J&K defeated Vidharbha and lifted the title of 18th Youth National Super Seven Cricket Championship, organised by J&K Super Seven Cricket Association under the aegis of Super Seven Cricket Federation at MA Stadium, here today.
In the final match, Vidharbha scored 76 runs in the allotted overs which was chased by J&K in 5.3 overs by losing only two wickets and won the title of the championship.
Earlier, two semi-final matches were played wherein J&K beat Jharkhand. Playing first, Jharkhand bundled out at 46 runs, while Jammu and Kashmir chased the target in five overs that too without any loss and in 2nd semi-final match, Vidharbha defeated Madhya Pradesh and the match for the 3rd place was played between Jharkhand and Madhya Pradesh which was won by Madhya Pradesh.
BJP senior leader Sham Lal Sharma was the chief guest of the final match along with JMC Deputy Mayor Purnima Sharma, Naryan Singh and Mahant Rajesh Bittu. They distributed trophies and cash prizes among the winners.
A cash prize of Rs 15000 was given to J&K team, while cash prize of Rs 12000 was awarded to runner-up and a cash prize of Rs 10000 was also given to Madhya Pradesh team which stood 3rd during the championship.
Cricket Association Shashi Bhushan, Jasvinder Singh Kukku, Ajay Sharma and Satpal Majotra were present during the event.
