J&K LA witness noisy scenes as BJP, oppn raise issues before Question-Hour

SRINAGAR : Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly today witnessed noisy scenes as ruling Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) and Opposition members wanted to raise their issues before Question-Hour today.
As the Speaker entered the House, members from the BJP and opposition were on their toes, demanding that they should be allowed to raise their issues before Question-Hour. BJP members raised the issue that Jammu district has been allocated less yearly development funds as compared to some other districts of the State.
Development funds allocated to Jammu district this year is less than funds allotted to other districts, including Srinagar district, they alleged. Members from the opposition benches also raised issue of unplanned construction going on at tourist destinations in the Kashmir valley.
The Communist Party of India (M) lone member in the House Mohammad Yousuf Targami alleged that tourist destination Sonmarg in the central Kashmir district of Ganderbal was being turned into concrete jungle as unplanned construction was going on there.
He demanded special powers to Sonmarg Development Authority (SDA) so that these constructions are stopped before it is too late. (AGENCIES)
