JAMMU, Jan 12: Working president of J&K Pradesh Congress, Raman Bhalla today said that Jammu and Kashmir was in serious crisis but the BJP Government at the Centre was still clueless.
Addressing large gathering while launching membership drive in Gandhi Nagar constituency here today Bhalla urged people to join the party in order to protect the country from forces that is “trying to destroy constitutional values”. He said that Congress party is vibrant and only unifying force in the country, it will continue to remain at the forefront to serve people. The party will continue to oppose the anti-youth and anti-people policies of the BJP Govt,” he added.
“The inflation, rising unemployment, economic crisis have pushed people towards backwardness,” Bhalla said and urged the people to join Congress party in its endeavor to defeat the policies of BJP Govt, which are responsible for the miserable condition of people. He appealed the people to come forward to support the Congress Party in its fight against the hypocrisy and wrong policies on the part of BJP.
Bhalla claimed that that people want change as the BJP has “failed” on all fronts of governance leading to unchecked price rise and record unemployment. He said that people of all sections of the society are completely fed up with the BJP’s performance in governance and its “anti-youth, anti-poor and anti-people policies”.
“Besides the anti-employees, anti-trade, anti-farmers and anti-people policies of BJP, there is an uncontrolled price rise, record unemployment in Jammu and Kashmir,” he alleged.
Bhalla said that the State of Jammu and Kashmir has been reduced to the level of administrative unit and the glory of the State has been snatched and ruined at the hands of BJP. He added that even after formal transition of J&K from State to UT on October 31, the issue of domicile safeguard and job safety and security has been left unaddressed.
Taking a dig at Union Govt, Bhalla claimed that Jammu region is reeling under shortage of various basic requirements but Govt is unmoved. He said Govt lacks approach which is based on consistency, clarity, conviction and creating only mess making people to suffer unnecessarily without any fault of theirs. He observed that under BJP regime in the Centre, poor people are not able to have two square meals due to sky-rocketing prices.
