J&K Grameen Bank organizes D- FLAP

JAMMU, Jan 29: Micro Finance and Financial Inclusion Department of J&K Grameen Bank under the chairmanship of  R K Chhibber,  in collaboration with NABARD,  organized Digital-Financial Literacy Awareness Programme at  villages Siot and Bagnoti,  under the branch office Siot and Bagnoti.
Regional Manager Rajouri/Poonch,  R K Narang,   who was  chief guest on the occasion,   highlighted  developments in banking sector and latest schemes. He informed the participants regarding various modes of getting cashless transactions from banks, various safeguards to be kept in mind while availing different banking facilities with special reference to use of ATM cards, mobile banking etc. He impressed upon the participants not to use any middle man from availing any benefit from the bank and approach the bank branch directly.
Vipan Gupta, senior Manager, MF&FI Department, J&K Grameen Bank, spoke  on cashless economy and he guided people to make transactions without having cash in hand. He enlightened people about new technologies available in the bank such as multiple uses of bank cheques, use of PoS machine, Rupay debit card, KCC Rupay debit card, net banking, mobile banking services, IMPS, Aadhaar based transactions etc. He also awarded them the merits and demerits of using such services and precautions to be taken care of while utilizing such facilities and advised people not to get trapped in fake calls, which is very common trend used by some fraudulent person’s active in the market.
Apart from this,  he also made aware  for various lending schemes tailored by the  bank for general public available on easy EMIs i.e,   Housing loan, Transport loan, Car loan, Education loan etc where rate of interest charged by the bank is very competitive.
Rupay debit cards were also distributed to the customers.
Satish Sharma, Branch Head Siot, addressed the gathering and detailed them regarding social security schemes APY, PMJJBY and  PMSBY.
JLGs loans of more than Rs 10 lakh were also disbursed during the programme. Representatives of various Line Departments also attended the programme.
Sarpanch Siot,  Sat Pal Sharma and Sarpanch Bagnoti,  Ashok Kumar,  Panchs, women of the area and other dignitaries of the villages were also present during the occasion.
Branch Head Bagnoti, Deepak Sharma presented the vote of thanks.
