J&K Govt files affidavit in SC

NEW DELHI :  Jammu and Kashmir Government has informed the Supreme Court that swift action was being taken to control communal violence in Kishtwar.
The state chief secretary in his affidavit filed in the Supreme Court today has also stated that army and para military forces were called in to control the situation and possible efforts were made to bring back normalcy in the state.
The affidavit further says that Rs 5 lakh shall be paid to the families of those killed in the violence, Rs 2 lakh shall be paid to those injured and Rs 2 lakh shall be paid to those who’s property was damaged during riots.
The apex court shall hear the PIL filed by Panthers party chief prof Bhim Singh on August 26. (agencies)
