KATHUA, Dec 2: Ravinder Raina, J&K BJP president embarked upon the various achievements of BJP Government in Health Sector in J&K and said that the previous governments of NC, PDP and Congress never bothered to do any thing good for the people of erstwhile State.
Addressing election rallies at Billawar, along with other senior leaders of party
Ravinder Raina said that Modi Government is committed to provide best health facilities, both in Jammu and Kashmir regions. It is matter of happiness that the Union Territory of J&K has been allocated two AIIMS, one at Vijaypur in Samba district of Jammu region and the second one at Awantipora in Pulwama district, of Kashmir Valley, under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojna (PMSSY). These revolutionary health projects worth Rs 4000 crore are expected to be dedicated to the people of J&K by August 2022.
Raina further said, not just the two AIIMS, but nine medical colleges have also been sanctioned in J&K by the Modi Government the prime agenda of which is to ensure that the people of J&K should get the best of medical facilities in their vicinity and thus avoid travelling to other parts of the country for treatment. Modi Government has also sanctioned a Cancer Institute in Srinagar. The project cost is almost Rs 120 crore, he added.
To better the health facilities in the UT, the Government will induct over 1000 medical officers in J&K. This will not only improve the functioning of health facilities but will also ensure employment to the youth of J&K.
J&K has made considerable improvement in the health sector over the years as the Union Territory has better parameters than the corresponding national average on various fronts. The UT has also been successful in bringing down the Infant Mortality Rate (IMR) by eight points from 34 to 26 in a single year which is the highest among all states. Jammu & Kashmir is also a prominent beneficiary of the Ayushman Bharat Scheme.
Raina expressed confidence that the people of Jammu & Kashmir will certainly “vote for development and not corrupt governance”, of which they have been a victim for decades.
