LEH, Mar 15: The Government employees from Jammu and Kashmir, presently placed in Ladakh have strongly demanded their immediate repatriation back to J&K.
A meeting was held here today by the members of non-local employees (employees from J&K UT) at Leh and Kargil (Ladakh UT) and many points regarding the repatriation of employees to J&K UT were discussed. The members recalled the statements made by General Adminisrative Department J&K, ensuring the repatriation of employees from Ladakh UT to J&K UT in first phase up to December 31, 2020, then January 31, 2021 then after February 15, 2021, but unfortunately till date, nothing has been done in this regard.
All the participants unanimously agreed in the meeting that in case of delay in transfer, we will be compelled to take extreme step after March 31, 2021 as number of representations have already been submitted to the Administration of Ladakh UT & J&K UT regarding the repatriation issue. Besides this, it was decided in the meeting that no deputation allowance has been granted by the administration after October 31, 2019.
Pertinet to mention here that before bifurcation of erstwhile state of J&K to UT of Ladakh & UT of J&K, over 100 employees of different departments of which the majority belong to the Education department, were deployed in Ladakh and they are yet to be called back.
The employees said that they are serving in good numbers in Ladakh UT that include Health Department, Education, PDD, RDD, Finance & Planning, Home department, PWD (R&B) and PHE/ Jal Shakti.
The employees demanded personal intervention of Lt. Governor of J&K and said employees serving in Ladakh UT prior to the implementation of J&K Re-organisation Act 2019 be repatriated to their home UT of J&K at an earliest without any delay.
