Srinagar, Feb 14: Dozens of employees from Jammu and Kashmir Cements Limited today protested against non- payment of their salaries for last six months.
Scores of employees working at JK Cements assembled at Partap Park here and protested and demanded the immediate release of their withheld salaries besides fulfillment of other pending demands. The employees accused the Government of pushing their families on the verge of starvation, as they have not been paid salaries for last six months.
They said that the salaries of employees are pending for last six months which is bringing misery to their families. “They have not paid us anything for last six months. What will our families eat? The Government has put the industry on the brink of closure by appointing an incompetent Managing Director. If the government want to save the company, they should immediately make changes in the leadership,” an employee said.
Besides the release of withheld salaries, the employees have presented series of demands before the Government, which include modification in the Provident Fund.
